About MTGpile
MTGpile is a free, no-login hub for 60-card Constructed Magic: the Gathering. The site is meant to be the single go-to place for information on tournament results and upcoming events, with a new fun toys mixed in.
What it does
- Tournament results - recent Magic Online Challenges and Leagues plus melee.gg events, with full decklists, brackets, and one-click exports (Arena, MTGO, plain text).
- Metagame analytics - archetype share, top-8 and win rates, head-to-head win-rate matrices, and the most successful players in each format.
- Eternal Formats on Arena - how much of each non-Standard metagame you can actually build on MTG Arena, right down to the specific cards you're missing.
- Event calendar - MTGO, Arena, and in-person events in one place, with a countdown to what's next and a set-release timeline.
- Deck tools - a deck diff, a printable sideboard guide, and an Arena-cube-vs-MTGO-cube comparison.
- Fast and private - no account, no tracking wall; the site is generated as plain HTML and works well at phone size.
FAQ
Where does the data come from?
Decklists come from Magic Online's public decklist pages and from melee.gg. Card data (names, sets, legalities, Arena availability) comes from MTGJSON, and card images come from Scryfall. See Credits below.
How often is it updated?
Magic Online results and the event calendar refresh automatically throughout the day as new events are posted. Melee (paper / in-person) events are added as they complete.
How are archetypes decided?
Every deck is matched against a set of hand-maintained, per-format rules - the key cards that define each archetype. A deck that doesn't match a known archetype falls back to its color identity and is left out of the analytics until it's classified, so the numbers stay meaningful.
Why is a card shown as not on Arena?
A card counts as "on Arena" if it has an Arena printing, is a conjure/spellbook target, lives in an always-on set, or is in the Arena Powered Cube. Paper-only cards (and intentionally excluded ones) are marked unavailable. Standard is assumed fully on Arena, so it's skipped.
Credits
MTGpile is built on a lot of community and first-party data, with thanks to:
- MTGJSON - the card database (names, sets, legalities, Arena ids) behind every card lookup.
- Scryfall - card images and the hover previews throughout the site, plus the mana symbols used to render mana costs.
- CubeCobra - the community-maintained Arena Powered Cube and MTGO Vintage Cube lists.
- Magic Online (Wizards of the Coast) - tournament decklists and the official event calendar.
- melee.gg - paper and in-person tournament results.
- The wider MTG community - archetype names and definitions draw on shared knowledge from countless players, brewers, and content creators.
Spot something wrong or missing - a mislabeled archetype, a card that should (or shouldn't) be on Arena, an event that's off? Corrections are always welcome.
